Drew Varnes joined Investure in 2018 to lead the Accounting & Treasury Team and is a partner at the firm. Prior to joining Investure, Drew led the investment management finance function at Vulcan, Inc., the family office for Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen. In his role at Vulcan, Drew led a team with responsibility for all aspects of accounting, operations, and performance analysis for Vulcan’s multi-billion dollar investment portfolio. Prior to joining Vulcan, Drew was the Director of Fund Administration and Operational Due Diligence at Cornerstone Advisors, Inc., a registered investment advisor. Before Cornerstone, Drew held several roles at BlackRock Alternative Advisors (formerly known as Quellos Group), including Vice President of Hedge Fund Operational Due Diligence and Vice President of Investment Operations. Drew began his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP as a staff auditor.

Drew graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. In addition, Drew graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Professional Accounting with a concentration in Financial Reporting and Assurance. Drew also completed his Master of Tax, with highest honors, from Golden Gate University. Drew is a licensed CPA, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute.
